○Autonomous Vehicles [2]

There is a possibility that accidents could occur when individuals are struck by vehicles traveling at 20 kilometers per hour or even slower, resulting in unfortunate injuries or fatalities. Determining the maximum speed limit that allows the functionality of vehicles while keeping the number of fatal accidents at zero becomes a matter of setting a clear boundary. As of now, the maximum speed limit of 20 kilometers per hour fulfills both conditions. Prospective residents of Prout Village must understand and accept that all accidents resulting in fatalities within the municipality are their personal responsibility before relocating.

Efforts are made to design autonomous vehicles in a way that individuals in wheelchairs can board the vehicles without assistance from caregivers. The vehicles are also equipped to accommodate emergency patients, providing enough space for two individuals to lie down, with all seating facing inward.

Since Prout Village is abundant in natural surroundings, fallen trees blocking the roads due to heavy rain or typhoons can occur. Therefore, each vehicle is equipped with a small electric chainsaw. In such instances, passengers can use the chainsaw to cut the fallen trees and move them aside before continuing their journey.

Due to widespread power generation throughout the municipality, facilities are installed beneath the roads to allow vehicles to charge while driving.
